Dr. Terry Wahls and Gluten

February 12, 2015 Katrina

Dr. Terry Wahls gives an amazing TEDx Talk on healing multiple sclerosis with food. She was diagnosed with MS in 2007.  She was loosing mobility and memory until she changed what she ate.  Now she rides a bicycle and educates people.  Dr. Wahls says she is the "canary in the coal mine" and here as a warning.

I was pleased to hear Dr. Wahls mention gluten and the role it plays in numerous illnesses.  In her words:

"Food allergies and food sensitivities are far more common than we realize. They are difficult to diagnose.  And in particular sensitivity to gluten, the protein in wheat, rye, and barley; and to dairy, the casein protein in dairy, is associated with a wide variety of health problems including but not limited to eczema, asthma, allergies, infertility, irritable bowel, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, arthritis, chronic headaches, neurological problems, and behavior problems."

This TEDx Talk takes 15 minutes to watch, and it is well worth the time.
